A jewelry designer want to show and promote their work where ever they go. It they use photos of their jewelry on their business cards they can do that any time they hand out their cards. Here is an example:
Do you think her business card would be just as effective with just her business name ? I do not believe so.
The photo of her jewelry design gives a much better idea of what she does.
If one has a lot of different designs to show to customers, the one idea is to update ones business card regularly with the latest design. This makes the cards a little more costly, but it might be worth it in order to be promoting the right design.

Here is a jewelry artist business card that is showing their jewelry with photos on the front side of the card. Then the back side of the business card offers additional information.
If this person just had a standard business card which only gave some contact information and may some of the information which is on the backside of this card, it just would not be even nearly as effective.
The photos of the jewelry make all the difference.
